Three parks in central China's Hubei province, Shennongjia, Wudang Mountains and Dabie Mountains, have been included in the recently released list of China's 30 most beautiful geoparks, hubeitour.gov.cn reported.
The evaluation, which was organized by a branch of the Geological Society of China and a geological tourism development association in Henan province, was launched at the beginning of the year, and included online voting and appraisal by ordinary people and experts. The 30 geoparks were selected from a total of 102 parks.
Shennongjia was ranked sixth in the list, Wudang Mountains in Shiyan city and Dabie Mountains in Huanggang city ranked the 15th and 18th respectively. Mulan Mountain, which is also located in Hubei, was not selected.
The list's top three "most beautiful geoparks" are: Alxa Desert Geopark in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Shilin Stone Forest Geopark in Yunnan province and Songshan National Geopark in Henan province.
