Longmen in Luoyang is not only home to magnificent cliff carvings, but also to the specialty of foods which is no less inferior. The following are the editor's choice of foods, which have unique local style, and served by Dongshan Hotel, Longmen.

Peony Dumplings have got recognition of being one of the traditional local delicacies in Luoyang. The dumpling wrapper is made of flour with peony flower juice and filling of pork. These dumplings are usually made like the shape of peony, the famous flower of Luoyang. The dumplings taste fresh and fragrant, but, it is not greasy.

Local folklore goes that during the 19th Year of Zhenguan Reign in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Xuanzang brought this nameless vegetable from his south Asia journey. The Emperor Taizong of Tang liked it very much and named it Yintiao (literally means silver bar). He also declared it as a royal court dish. Being crisp and refreshing, it is a famous cold vegetable dish.
