Bian Faji, member of the Hebei Provincial Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), submitted his proposal on Jan 7, recommending that all industries in Hebei province should be motivated to participate in provincial cultural industrial construction, strengthening the overall layout, planning and promotion of the cultural industry.
Bian said that Hebei has huge advantages and potential to develop its cultural industry. In 2012, the added value of Hebei's cultural industry hit 72.63 billion yuan ($12 billion), a year-on-year increase of 35.1 percent. The cultural industry should be included in Hebei's overall structural adjustment and economic transformation plans. By cooperating with the cultural industry, all industries can find new development opportunities and achieve industrial upgrading, Bian added.
Meanwhile, Bian suggested that the overall cultural industrial plan should take the province's cultural resource characteristics and location advantages into consideration, promoting the development of innovation, leisure, tourism and holiday industries. The province should avoid competition with Beijing and Tianjin. By increasing funding to support the cultural industry, Hebei province is expected to lead in national cultural industrial development. |
