Xiangsheng (a Chinese form of comedic spoken performance, also known as cross-talk) shows will be staged in late June in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the death of xiangsheng master Hou Yaowen.

Organized by the Chinese Quyi (a general term for narrative folk performance forms) Artists Association and a number of local quyi artist associations, the commemorative performances will also be held in Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanxi province's capital Taiyuan from June 23-30.
