A photo exhibition focused on the cultural and environmental protection of China's northern city of Zhang Jiakou opened at the headquarters of the United Nations, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The exhibition, dubbed "Great Landscape, Green Home", displays more than 80 photos showing the unique landscape of the city and beautiful natural scenery, its culture and ancient traditions, as well as festivities and modern infrastructure.
The purpose of the exhibition is to showcase the achievements of Zhang Jiakou city in protecting the natural environment and building a harmonious society, as well as expanding its influence in the world, the report said, citing the organizers.
Located in the northwest of Hebei province, adjacent to the capital city of Beijing to the southeast, Zhang Jiakou covers an area of 37,000 square kilometers and has a population of 4.66 million. |
