Yang Chongyong, a member of the Hebei’s provincial government Standing Committee, joined various provincial department leaders in visiting the South Hebei New District, in the city of Handan, to study the construction work and help enterprises there get over any difficulties they face. Yang also attended an opening ceremony of the New District, on Oct 18.

Yang emphasized the need for the New District, which lies at a juncture of the province coast, the capital city economic region, and the Central Plains Economic Zone, holding an important strategic position in regional development. Yang said the Provincial Party Committee and government were paying attention to its development, and that Handan is backing it every way.

He pointed out that the New District needed to make full use of its resources, geographic location, and industrial base to speed development as a new provincial economic growth pole, a place for improving the industrial structure of the mid and southern parts of Hebei province, and the largest, most modern logistics hub of the in the Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong, and Henan provincial juncture.

Yang went on to say that some enterprises face difficulties because of the of economic downturn and need a lot more help to get through so, it is necessary to encourage enterprises in technological innovation and increased competitiveness, to bring in more talented personnel, and to help them deal with the connection of production and demands by strengthening credit and financial support.
