Handan held a funding ceremony for 353 poor college students, distributing 4,000 yuan to each student. The total amount subsidized was about 1.46 million yuan.

Aid money for each student increased from 3,000 yuan last year to 4,000 yuan in 2012. The coverage rose from 10 percent to 14.8 percent.

Since 2007, Handan has made it top priority to subsidize poor college students and has exerted great effort to make sure no one is deprived of education due to poverty.

The list of the 353 subsidized students has been publicized. None of the students have been reported as unqualified.
