The conferment ceremony of the Town of Chinese Calligraphy was held in Yixing Lake Garden in Longhua County, Hebei.

Zhao Changqing, Sub-Party secretary and vice-chairman of Chinese Calligraphers Association, and Ai Wenli, member of the Hubei standing committee and propaganda minister, attended the ceremony and unveiled the stone inscription “Town of Chinese Calligraphy: Longhua, Hebei”. The participants also enjoy improvised calligraphy works on the 100-meter-long scroll and local art performances.

Longhua County has focused on cultural construction and has built new museums and libraries. The county is known as the “Town of Chinese Countryside Poetry”. Longhua County has a fine tradition of calligraphy. It has held more than 100 calligraphy activities and published many famous calligraphy sample reels including Enjoyable in the Sea of Chinese Ink, Charm of Autumn on Paper and the Aroma of Irises and Orchids Perfumes the Hair. Some of Longhua’s calligraphy works have been exhibited around the world and received good feedback.
