China's General Administration of Press and Publication (CAPP) signed a strategic cooperative frame agreement with Hebei government in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province, last Thursday.
Hebei Party Secretary Zhang Yunchuan held a talk with CAPP director Liu Binjie on the cooperation and briefed him on the province’s publishing industry. Hebei governor Chen Quanguo and Liu then went on to put the agreement in writing at the signing ceremony.
According to the agreement, CAPP will strengthen its support of Hebei’s press and publication industry across many levels. It will increase guidance and supportive policies for its reform and development and back Hebei’s application for national key publishing projects and publishing funds. In addition it will aid the development of new publishing areas such as digital publishing; give support to the Farmer’s Bookstores project, the biannual Beidaihe Summer Books Trade Fair, and the industrial “going out” strategy. It will also focus on the improving the enforcement of intellectual property related laws and provide relevant training programs.
The two parties also agreed on setting up a joint leaders cooperation team and regularizing the joint session and the combined research mechanism. |
