The Hebei government’s plan to invest 65 billion yuan into the province’s highway construction next year has been given the green light at a standing conference Dec 17.
Hebei officials issued a new plan for 2011 last Friday, setting the targets for next year’s highway construction and investment. The 65 billion yuan will be used to finalize construction work of nine roads and sections stretching 449 kilometers.
There are also details in the plan to construct 33 highway sections spanning 2,428 kilometers, which will cost 201.3 billion yuan. Of those 33, 21 are on-going projects, and the other 12 will be new contrcution.
By the end of 2011, the provincial highway distance will exceed 4,700 kilometers.
