Several migrant birds fed themselves in a wetland park in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, on Sept 13.
Qinhuangdao’s coastal wetlands are a stopover point for migrant birds from northern China flying south, and attract more than 100,000 birds of no less than 400 species every year. Qinhuangdao closed several wetland areas to the public at the beginning of 2010, in the hope of protecting the wetland ecosystem and attracting migrant birds to inhabit the park. Birds from the north began to arrive in mid-August.
