News has arrived from the Exit-Entry Administration Department of the Tangshan Municipal Public Security Bureau that due to needlessly complicated regulations blocking Shenzhen residents from entering Hong Kong, the Ministry of Public Security will launch a new procedure on December 15 this year to simplify the application procedures and reduce the processing time for Hong Kong visas.
The Exit-Entry Administration Department of the Tangshan Municipal Public Security Bureau reminded the Tangshan citizens, from December 15, 2010, the amount of people who do not have a Guangdong Hukou applying for Hong Kong visa in Shenzhen will be expanded. Shenzhen residents who do not have Guangdong Hukou work in Shenzhen Municipal Government, state-owned and private enterprises and joint ventures, and foreign professionals and individual business owners who hold more than a one-year residence permit Shenzhen can apply for a Hong Kong tourism and business visa with a validity of three months, single-entry, or one year, single entry, from the Exit-Entry Administration Department of Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau, and each time stay in Hong Kong for no more than 7 days and apply for once in each quarter.
Our province has implemented a regulation to allow applications for travel documents on demand in 2009. Therefore, residents in our province who meet the above conditions can apply for Hong Kong visas in the Exit-Entry Administration Department of Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau with their residence booklet, second-generation resident ID card, residence permit and certificate of employment.
