The forum is co-sponsored by the UN and the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Hebei held a similar urban construction conference in 2008. Ministry and provincial government officials organized a meeting in Langfang to attract capital and advance urban expansion.
During that time, 73 projects were signed, representing 524 billion yuan in investment.
A second urban construction expo took place in Shijiazhuang last year. It attracted more than 80 foreign scholars and ambassadors as well as some 300 Chinese experts. Around 165 projects were signed, with combined investment surpassing 888 billion yuan. |
