The ninth Hebei-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Conference opened in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, on Aug 16.

Themed “Remember Ancestor, Seek Cooperation, Pursue Development,” the ninth Hebei-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Conference opened in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, on Aug 16. Zhang Meiying, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and the first vice chairman of the Democratic League, attended the conference and announced its opening. Three hundred guests from various circles of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait were invited to the conference.

At the project signing ceremony, 19 investment projects, including a cross-strait agriculture pioneer park and a grape eco-industrial park, were signed between Zhangjiakou city (and its districts/counties) and the Cross-Strait Agriculture Association and Canaan Construction Investment Co Ltd, concerning areas of agricultural product processing and tourism development. The total investment amounted to more than 15.68 million yuan, of which about 11.4 million yuan was for 13 foreign-invested projects.

The three-day conference will also hold other activities, such as cultural exchange week, cultural resource promotions, cultural creative industry forum and agricultural industrialization forum.
