The State Council of China invited 70 scholars and experts to Beidaihe, a famous tourist spot in Hebei province, on a holiday to honor their achievements, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The scholars and experts are among those who were elected in the recruitment program of global experts launched by the country at the beginning of 2009.

So far, the program has attracted more than 100,000 overseas talents to return, among whom, 825 have been elected in the program.

It is a tradition for the State Council to show care and love to talents and invite them to Beidaihe for a holiday. Since 2001, the country has invited 605 talents and their families to Beidaihe.
