French retail giant Carrefour has formed a joint venture with Hebei retailer Baolongcang, according to a press conference held on Friday.

Carrefour holds a 51 percent stake of the new company and Baolongcang holds the remaining 49 percent.

The government approved the joint venture, which will operate all of Baolongcang's 11 stores.
