| Visual image of the Hebei Pavilion for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. | Construction of the Hebei Pavilion for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo is scheduled to begin in mid-January, according to the World Expo Office of Hebei province.
The office said the design of the Hebei Pavilion was approved on Dec 25 by an expert panel that commended the Hebei design, saying its unique shape is characteristic of Hebei and that its philosophy coincides with the Shanghai World Expo.
Zhao Fenglou, director of the World Expo Office of Hebei province, said the pavilion plans to have five interior geometric buildings that will be interconnected, much like strands of DNA. |
