To meet the needs of modern agriculture development, the Hebei Agriculture Department has organized more than 80 groups and 600 person-trips to go abroad on investigation tours and played host to 113 groups of foreign guests.

It has also built friendly relations with more than 40 countries including the United States, Canada, Japan, Russia and France.

Through the diverse foreign exchanges, the department has introduced a total of 360 new crop varieties in seven categories: grains, cotton, edible oil, vegetables and flowers.

Large business and investment activities provincial authorities have attended include the China AG Trade Fair held by Ministry of Agriculture the “5.18” Economic and Trade Conference the “10.18” Agriculture Products Trade Fair and the Hong Kong Investment Fair.

The moves bore fruit in attracting $50 million in utilized foreign capital each year for more than 10 straight years.
