Chen Quanguo appointed acting governor of Hebei province

Chen Quanguo, 54, was appointed Deputy Party Secretary Hebei provincial government and Acting Governor of Hebei province at the 13th session of the standing committee of the 11th Hebei provincial people's congress, on December 15, 2009.

An ethnic Han, Chen was born in Pingyu County, Zhumadian city, Henan Province in November, 1955, and received his Bachelor’ degree from Zhengzhou University in political economy, and later earned a Masters in economics from Wuhan Automobile Polytechnical University. He joined the Communist Party in February, 1976; started working in December 1973 as a Deputy Party Secretary in Shazhou County, Suzhou city, Jiangsu province.
