The Hebei Culture Week ended in a success in Moscow, Russia on Oct 15. Before held in the US, Germany, Belgium, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong special administrative region, a promotional week on Hebei culture moved on to Moscow this year, where it was hailed as another success.
“We are aiming at opening a window to overseas audiences and let them know more about the colorful and charming culture in the province,” said Xiang Jinke, head of the Hebei delegation that held the promotion.
“No matter where we went, the enthusiasm from media outlets was beyond our expectations,” he said. “A ‘Hebei culture storm’ has been stirred in many places.”
Hebei province showcased many of its unique culture products such as opera, acrobats and martial arts. Audiences enjoyed the performances despite cultural barriers.
A painting on snuff bottle from Hengshui, paper-cuts from Weixian and a New Year’s painting from Wuqiang proved particularly popular.
Visitors to the exhibitions included senior government officials, celebrities and leaders of the local business community.
The province also seized opportunities to promote local investment climate and trade opportunities. “Culture is an important bridge to showcase the ‘soft power’ of the province and offers a unique forum to boost trade,” Xiang said. |
