The 2019 Big Data Expo, which will be held in Guizhou's capital Guiyang from May 26 to 29, will exhibit the achievements of integrating big data with poverty alleviation efforts for the first time, according to the executive committee of the expo on May 7.

The exhibition area will cover 140 square meters and use interactive screens, VR, and multi-touch screens to showcase the latest result of applying big data to promote education, medical treatment, housing, transportation, information network, and drinking water upgrades, as well as agricultural product promotion and rural industrial restructuring.

As one of the most poverty-stricken provinces in China, Guizhou strives to revitalize its rural economy with "a profound industrial revolution" that incorporates new technologies. Currently Guizhou has been boosted by its digital economy industries, and became the first choice for big data innovation and entrepreneurship.

With the help of big data, Guiyang has built a traceability system for agricultural products, which has the functions of data analysis, place of origin management, and automatic data uploading.

In 2018, 24 agricultural projects integrated with big data were carried out in Guiyang to make the province's poverty alleviation efforts scientific and targeted.
