Tourists traveling to Guizhou province by high-speed railway can access the 4G network even high up on mountains or in tunnels, owing to the province's full 4G coverage on high-speed rail lines in place since May 10.

Guizhou plans to make the 4G network available on all its existing and new high-speed rail lines, local authorities announced.

The province has opened 640km of high-speed railway lines, including the Beijing-Guangzhou and Shanghai-Kunming routes, all covered with the 4G network.

Guizhou province implemented the major project named "full signal coverage in Guizhou" last year and it will achieve full coverage in urban and rural areas and along high speed roads and rail lines, according to the Guizhou Provincial Economic and Information Commission.

To achieve the province's goal, the three biggest Chinese telecom operators, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom cooperated with China Tower, a communication service provider, focusing on construction of mobile communication base stations. By the first quarter of 2016, the total number of mobile stations had reached 95,700, including 4,700 newly constructed ones.

Guizhi expects to have 113,900 mobile stations providing 4G service to every village by the end of this year.
