In accordance with the proposal, Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, should be built as one of the major cities of the "One Belt and One Road" and boost the construction of infrastructure to make Guiyang a leading force of the regional economic growth pole.
Support should be given to build external exchange platforms including the Guiyang international forum and China-Guizhou international liquor exhibition.
Meanwhile, direct flights between Guiyang and Singapore, Guiyang and Naypyidaw of Myanmar, and Guiyang and Vientiane of Laos should be developed as well as the high-speed railway from Guiyang to Pingxiang to connect Southeast Asia, as the proposal reads.
Guizhou province is a transportation junction that connects the Eurasia Land Bridge via Chongqing and Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province, to integrate into the new Silk Road economic belt.
The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road is connected via high-speed railway and expressway.
Guizhou, located between Chongqing, the beginning of the Silk Road economic belt, and the Port of Guangzhou, the beginning of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, offers the shortest passage.
The West Development plan will be promoted to a new level as Guizhou enters the One Belt and One Road. It also helps Guizhou and greater Southwest China get rid of poverty to achieve common prosperity.
It also improves the plan and layout of One Belt and One Road in the State to balance the development of One Belt and One Road. It also promotes exchange and cooperation with the outside.
In compliance with the One Belt and One Road plan, Guizhou has been ruled out from the plan.
