The new Guizhou Provincial Museum went into trail operation on January 24 and it was highly appraised for its well-designed appearance and fashionable internal decorations.

Locals were attracted by the three temporary shows---"Splendid European Painting Show", "World of Celadon Ware" which create a mixture of nature and spirit and "Guizhou Artists' Color Painting Exhibition".
The new site is located in Linchengdong Road, Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, capital city of southwest China's Guizhou province. Guiyang International Convention Centre and Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall are across the road. The entire construction covers 46,000 square meters with the design philosophy of "tiny but multiple".
The new hall has a distinctive Guizhou feature. Decorated by metacrinus and keichousaurus, the hall shows a great sense of space.
Not only the attractive appearance, the temporary exhibitions are of high quality. The "Splendid European Painting Show" from Galleria Sabauda Torino has brought us marvelous paintings from Apennine Peninsula. The items on display are the masterpieces from the most influential artists in the golden era, stand for the art from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century.
There are also fantastic collections of Chinese art in the temporary exhibition area. The show "World of Celadon Ware" which creates a mixture of nature and spirit appeals to large amount of attention. The celadon wares on display are specially selected from Zhejiang Provincial Museum. Representing the top level of Chinese celadon ware in different times, the exhibition presents visitors a well history of celadon ware.
The "Exhibition of Guizhou Artists' Color Painting", jointly hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Museum and Guizhou Provincial Academy of Painting, presents us dozens of works on landscape painting and Guizhou ethnic villages which makes it another highlight in the museum.
As it is learnt, the new museum started construction in 2013 and it was complete in 2014. The official opening is scheduled in May, 2015. Four dimensional films on prehistoric life is showing during the trial operation and more scientific films are expected.
