The Guiyang International Half Marathon kicked off at its Olympic Sports Center on Sunday, attracting more than 10,000 people from 23 countries and regions to take part.

Chemosin Robert Kwemoi, an athlete from Kenya, and Debele Worknesh Degefa from Ethiopia won the men's and women's title in 1:02:24 and 1:11:41, respectively.

"Guiyang's climate is suitable for marathons and I'm very satisfied with my performance today. I will participate in Guiyang's marathon again next year," said Kwemoi.
