Guiyang recently established policies to speed up the development of the tourism industry.
Starting in 2014, Guiyang will arrange an annual fund of no less than 60 million yuan ($9.85 million) for tourism infrastructure construction, including scenic spots construction, tourism project development and the completion of tourism support facilities.
Guiyang will also arrange an annual fund of no less than 50 million yuan to support newly-opened flight routes. At the same time, the annual fund will increase year-by-year in accordance with each year's financial situation.
The newly established policy also set rules for rewards. Scenic spots at the national 5A and 4A level can be granted a reward of 1 million yuan and 500,000 yuan, respectively.
Travel agencies that have made China's top 100 travel agency list in the same year can get a financial reward of 100,000 yuan. In addition, 500,000 yuan rewards are available for scenic spots that are evaluated as 5A or 4A at the national level during the year.
Guiyang will award 100,000 yuan for travel agencies that make it into the country's top 100 list this year.
