Ecological agricultural products from Bijie, a city in southwestern Guizhou province, were promoted in Shenzhen on Dec 27 -- attracting a large number of residents of the southern Guangdong province city to taste and buy vegetables, eggs, edible mushrooms, fruit and other Bijie products.
A total of 104 leading agricultural businesses from Guizhou participated in the promotional event, according to the organizers. On offer were more than 260 kinds of high-quality green agricultural products -- such as fresh vegetables, walnuts and bamboo fungus.
Among the Guizhou businesses, 51 from Bijie showed 140 kinds of agricultural products. The organizers said 35 sales agreements were reached between Bijie's agricultural products enterprises and buyers. Among these were three agreements worth more than 100 million yuan ($14.34 million) and 14 agreements with more than 10 million yuan.
Bijie also launched in November last year a series of agricultural products promotion activities in Beijing and Chongqing, with fruitful results, local officials said. They said that to date, Bijie has reached purchasing agreements worth a total of about 1.7 billion yuan.
