According to the Anshun government, the city in Southwest China's Guizhou province received 103 million tourists from all over the world in 2019, an increase of 23.96 percent, and achieved tourism revenue of 100.49 billion yuan ($14.39 billion), an increase of 28.78 percent.
During the National Day holiday, which lasted from Oct 1 to 7 this year, Anshun received 5.61 million tourists, generating tourism revenue of 4.4 billion yuan. The most popular tourist attractions in Anshun are Huangguoshu National Park, Loong Palace, Denon Tunpu Scenic Area, and Getu River Scenic Spot.
Anshun has actively participated in the construction of a regional tourism demonstration area. Since the beginning of 2019, Anshun has invested 549 million yuan in 35 key tourism projects, as well as constructed four complex expressway service areas, two hotels, and 35 public toilets.
With the success of the 6th Anshun Tourism Industry Development Conference that was successfully held in September 2019, Anshun completed 1,382 tourism projects, as well as implemented 12 poverty alleviation activities through rural tourism, which provided jobs for 2,000 people and benefited 47,000 people since 2017.
