According to the 2018-2022 garbage sorting plan, Guiyang of Southwest China's Guizhou province has started a garbage sorting, collection, transportation and disposal system this month.
The plan for Guiyang's downtown area stipulates that the recycling rate of household garbage should reach 35 percent, while the processing rate of harmful waste should equate to around 50 percent, and the disposal rate of perishable waste should amount to70 percent..
In Guiyang's Qingzhen, Xiuwen and Kaiyang counties, the recycling rate of household garbage should reach 20 percent, and the disposal rate of perishable waste should reach 60 percent. It is hoped that the household garbage sorting system should cover 90 percent of Guiyang city.
By 2022, Guiyang aims to establish treatment centers for perishable waste in the city, in tandem with reclamation projects for recyclable or large-scale waste. In addition, the plan also includes the construction of a disposal center for harmful waste, which will rely on the solid waste recycling industrial park.
