Li Zaiyong, member of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou CPC Provincial Committee and executive vice-governor, said that 178 Taiwan-funded enterprises have settled in Guizhou since the first conference in 2013, with the number of signed projects and investments increasing.
He added that deeper exchanges and cooperation are expected to be enhanced between the two sides in big data, healthcare, cultural tourism, agriculture, and talent exchanges.
Taiwan-funded enterprises are encouraged to move to Central and West China, such as Guizhou, and 64 preferential policies were issued last year to support Taiwan-funded enterprises, said Long Mingbiao, deputy director of the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office.
The conference will further cooperation by highlighting the advantages that Guizhou and Taiwan possess, as well as bring in new development and opportunities for enterprises in both places.
An investment promotion was also organized during the opening ceremony. A series of activities related to the conference will be held from Sept 17 to 20 in six cities of Guizhou, including the cities of Guiyang, Zunyi, and Anshun, as well as the autonomous prefectures of Qiandongnan, Qiannan, and Qianxinan.
The conference attracts more than 500 participants, including guests from Taiwan, government officials, enterprise representatives, and journalists. [Photo/gog.cn] |
