During the New Year's holiday, Guizhou province received a total of 5.96 million tourists and made a total of 4.02 billion yuan ($588.43 million) in tourism revenue, according to the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Although the province suffered from low temperatures and snowfall throughout the holiday, tourists seemed too distracted by Guizhou's stunning landscapes, as a total of 948 flights leaving and entering the province were booked 111,500 times, while trains were booked 616,900 times.

Due to a deeper infusion of culture into festival activities, visitors were able to better enjoy the many colorful events on offer, including old celebrity house tours, trips to see intangible cultural heritage items and opportunities to experience ethnic cultural customs.
In addition, various local cultural and service facilities have launched a variety of themed activities, including New Year concerts, large-scale lantern shows, winter activities, and calligraphy and painting exhibitions.

Winter tourism in Guizhou has been continuously improved as skiing was offered at 20 scenic spots over the holiday, including the Tongshi Huangshi Park Scenic Spot in Zunyi, the Tianlong Tunpu Tourism Scenic Spot in Anshun and the Foding Mountain Scenic Spot in Shiqi county.

Guizhou is still in the process of developing its smart tourism platform, and the "Travel in Guizhou" platform was of great service to tourists over the holiday. Its services include offering meteorological information, flight updates, and safety tips.
