According to a news conference held on Dec 26, the first direct flight from Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, to Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar, will begin operating on Jan 8, 2019.
The flight will be operated by 9 Air, a budget airline based in Guangzhou, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

It will depart from the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport at 3:45 pm and arrive in Mandalay at 4:50 pm. It will then depart from Mandalay at 6:20 pm and arrive in Guiyang at 10:00 pm.
Myanmar began providing visa-on-arrival services to Chinese citizens on Oct 1, making traveling to Myanmar even more convenient for Guiyang people.
