A Guiyang government delegation, led by the Party secretary of Guiyang committee, Zhao Deming, paid a visit to Germany and France to investigate local industry and attract foreign investments.
The delegation attended the 5th state and perspectives of the economic relationship between Germany and China (Stand und Perspektiven der wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und China) - Belt and Road Initiative. Zhao made a keynote speech at the opening ceremony.
Co-organized by the Frankfurt-based consultancy company RSBK GmbH and China Economic Cooperation Center, the meeting has become a high-end platform for investors and entrepreneurs in China, Germany and the rest of Europe.
In the speech, Zhao said that deeper cooperation should be built between Guizhou and European enterprises in a bid to expand the Chinese consumer market and especially the Western Chinese consumer market for European mid-to-high value consumer goods.
He also expressed his determination to establish a distribution center and logistics hub for mid-to-high value consumer goods in Guiyang, taking advantage of the city's location, transportation and policies.
Guiyang welcomes high-quality German enterprises and the city's government will make every effort to create a stable, fair, transparent and predictable business environment for foreign merchants, he added.
After the meeting, the delegation visited some Germany companies, such as HELLWEG, DM and ZWILLING and were impressed by their advanced manufacturing capabilies, great supply capacity and their open and inclusive atmosphere.
In Paris, the delegation studied local furniture and department store markets and exchanged ideas with industry insiders.
Zhao pointed out how Guiyang's specific geographical location and the mature business methods of Paris could be combined together to promote high-end consumption in China's western regions, producing a win-win situation for all parties.
