At an airline route product promotion meeting held by China Southern Airlines on Nov 22, it was announced that the company's brand new Boeing 737-800 airplanes will adopt coating based on Guizhou batik elements next year.
As one of the intangible cultural heritages of Guizhou, batik has a history of over 2,000 years. It can only be handmade and is extensively used in daily life by the region's various ethnic groups.
The airline has chosen blue and white, which are the main colors of batik products, as the theme color, with decorations representing Huangguoshu Waterfall and the Mushroom Rock of Mount Fanjing, the most well-known sights in Guizhou.

The airplanes will be coated and take off next year, visiting 33 cities across the world and offering a golden chance for Guizhou tourism promotion.
During the new season, China Southern Airlines will operate new flight routes between Guiyang in Guizhou, Shiyan and Xiangyang in Hubei, and Qingdao in Shandong, which will fill in the blanks in transportation between Guizhou and Hubei provinces.
In addition, China Southern Airlines will add 11 new flight routes from Guiyang to Qionghai in Hainan, Zhanjiang in Guangdong, Yantai and Jinan in Shandong, Tianjin, Xining in Qinghai and Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
Flights between Guiyang and Ningbo in Zhejiang, Qingdao in Shandong, Haerbin in Heilongjiang and Shantou in Guangdong will be increased, which will make the flight route network from Guiyang cover Northeast, Northwest, East and South China.
The Boeing 737-800 with the Guizhou-themed coating will fly all the flight routes mentioned above.
To further promote the agricultural products made in Guizhou, all airplanes departing from Guiyang will be equipped with Guizhou-made drinks and snacks such as mineral water, black tea, green tea and chili sauce.
The freight service provided by China Southern Airlines will simplify its logistics to shorten the time of transportation while guaranteeing the freshness of the cargo for customers.
Guizhou characteristic agricultural products will also be promoted via the China Southern Airlines App, official WeChat account and WeChat applet.
