2018 Yangtze River Economic Belt Science & Technology Resource Sharing forum kicked off in Guian New Area, Guizhou province on Nov 16.
Themed on "Big Data Boosting Resource Sharing", the forum aimed to develop science and technology resource sharing platforms and cooperation systems among cities along the Yangtze River.
During the forum, the science and technology sharing achievements of the Yangtze Economic Belt were exhibited. More than thirty science and technology (S&T) management departments, service organizations, hubs and enterprises have signed agreements to promote local industries in Guizhou, including big data, health. ecological tourism, modern agriculture, green energy and new materials. Among them, the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Science plans to work with with United Imaging (Guizhou), a healthcare company, to research and develop local medical imaging equipment.
The forum attracted more than three hundred people, including officials, scholars and experts hailing from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the science departments of eleven provinces, universities and enterprises.
The forum has been held annually since 2016, beginning in Shanghai before moving to Changsha the following year and then Guian New Area. The forum has enabled the establishment of a sharing platform that allows for greater communication and cooperation among S&T organizations and enterprises in Yangtze Economic Belt while bringing new advanced technology to undeveloped areas in the southwest of China.
The forum is guided by the National Science and Technology Infrastructure Center, and is sponsored by Guizhou Provincial Science and Technology Department, Guian New Area Management Committee and the Yangtze River Economic Belt Science & Technology Resource Sharing Platform Council.
