Manbang, China's largest truck-hailing company, signed a strategic agreement with China Transport Telecommunication Information Group Co Ltd in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, on Nov 1. The two sides will cooperate in big data, investment and other fields to improve China’s intelligent logistics industry.
As a subsidiary of China Transportation Telecommunication & Information Center (CTTIC), the group owns extensive transportation information and massive amounts of basic data on road transport.
Manbang's network operation platform is able to produce 6TB of logistics market data every day. The cooperation between the two sides, which means the combination and sharing of basic data and market data, will generate tremendous benefits for the logistics field.
Wang Gang, chairman and CEO of Manbang, believes that logistics is a vast market and value will be limited if data comes from just one single platform.
"Only if we break the information barrier can we maximize the value of data and make the logistics industry more intelligent," he said.
Cao Desheng, director of CTTIC, said the coming together of basic transportation data and market data will improve logistics efficiency and spur the transformation of the sector.
Relying on data sharing, the two sides will also cooperate in digital identity certification, road transportation apps and high-precision maps, accelerating the construction of national logistics information platforms.
