A interactive multimedia ethnic music performance "Plateau-Hearing Guizhou" performed by Huadeng Theater of Guizhou province won the qualification of the first national outstanding Chinese orchestra performance last month. They will perform in Jinan, Shandong province and other nine Chinese orchestras by the end of October.
Consisting of five chapters,"Plateau-Hearing Guizhou" utilizes multimedia art and a WeChat app developed by theater in its goal of promoting Guizhou folk music. According to the show's composer, Long Guohong, the show's music is made by more than 80 instruments all originating from China, 90 percent of which come from Guizhou.

The preparation of the performance started in 2012. After collecting the ethnic instruments of Guizhou, the theater improved some of the instruments to replace the original cellos and contrabasses.
In addition, the theater developed a WeChat applet that allows audience members to chose the background music of the performance and even participate during the chorus.
