According to the 2018 China AI Computing Power Development Report released at the 2018 AI Computing Conference held in Beijing from Sept 11 to 12, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province ranks among the top 10 cities in China in terms of computing power.
The report is based on the development trends, investment situation, and application of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry in domestic regions and cities. Guiyang ranks 4th among tier two cities in China.
AI has developed a lot since 2017. In just one year, investment in the industry increased by 10 folds, while AI's computing power increased by 230.7 percent, and the data size increased by 50 percent.

Over the past few years, Guizhou has strived to develop its big data industry and introduced data centers from multiple advanced IT companies such as Apple and Tencent, providing data resources for the AI industry to absorb, submit, learn and create.
Placing great importance on the AI industry, Guizhou has launched various plans for AI development since 2016. The province plans to establish an intelligent development framework, intelligent application infrastructure, and AI industrial chain, and become a national intelligent manufacturing center by 2020.
