Southwest China's Guizhou province ranks high in the 2018 China Big Data Development Index Report, released by China Center for Information Industry and Development (CCID), a national IT information service institution, on Aug 24 at the 2018 Smart China Expo held in Chongqing.
According to the report, Guizhou ranked second in the nation's data resource sharing index, third in big data development environment index, seventh in big data development index and eighth in big data application index.
The report shows that East China has taken the lead in big data development, followed by West China, where Guizhou, Sichuan and Chongqing municipality are advancing with strong momentum and ranks top 10 in China's big data development industry.
The top five places in China with the strongest big data development potential are Guangdong, Shanghai, Guizhou, Beijing and Chongqing, with brilliant achievements in organization, financial support, information development and talent cultivation.
The report also suggests that Guizhou is at a high level in terms of data resources openness and sharing, which indicates that the province does a good job in policy formulation related to big data development and openness, as well as policy implementation.
