Three high-speed railways of the Guizhou-Nanning, Panzhou-Xingyi and Tongren-Jishou lines will be constructed according to the national comprehensive transportation development blueprint under the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20):
Launched in 2016, Guizhou-Nanning High-speed Railway construction is expected to be completed by the end of the 2023 with a total investment of 75.7 billion yuan ($11.09 billion). Stretching 200 kilometers in Guizhou area, its maximum speed can reach 350km/h and is estimated to serve 400 million people a year.
Panzhou-Xingyi High-speed Railway, with a total length of 100 km, is scheduled to begin construction at the end of 2018 and will be completed by the end of 2022. The maximum speed is estimated to be 250km/h with a total investment of 14.8 billion yuan.
As for Tongren-Jishou High-speed Railway, which will cover 24 km in Guizhou, the feasibility study and design for the railway are now being promoted.
According to the National Mid-term and Long-term for Railway Development Plan (2030), a railway network totalling 7,500 km will be established in Guizhou province, 2,500 km of which will be for high-speed rail.
By the end of July, Guizhou has built up 3,550 km for railway, 1,214 km of which is for high speed rail. The province has invested 11.6 billion yuan in railway construction, which accounts for 77.3 percent of the total 15 billion yuan of all-year-round investment.
