The second partnership workshop for SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) – China TVET (technical and vocational education and training) cultural twinning program ended on July 29 in Guizhou.
The workshop was part of the 11th China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Education Cooperation Week and aimed to implement the agreements and memorandums of cooperation signed in the previous year and promote the vocational education development between China and ASEAN member states.

China and ASEAN demonstrated the successful cooperation cases at the workshop and discussed the possibility of further cooperating in areas of education, student exchange, scholarship, teacher exchange, online culture class, joint student activities, joint research, short term teacher training and double degree program.
During the workshop, 30 Chinese colleges and universities signed 81 educational cooperation agreements with 34 ASEAN colleges and universities.
Relying on the supporting policies launched by the government, Guizhou provides three years of free vocational education after nine years of compulsory education, allowing students to receive better education and promoting the economic development in the region.
