An art exhibition depicting the landscapes and ethnic cultures along the Lancang River, located in Southwest China, will open at the Guizhou Provincial Museum in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, from July 28 to Aug 4.
Hosted by the Guizhou Artists Association and the Artsind Group, the exhibition will display about 30 painting works depicting various aspects along the river, including mountains, rivers, ethnic dwellings and cultural customs.
One of the biggest rivers in Southwest China and the seventh longest river in the world, Lancang River is famous for its unique geographic and cultural features, especially the ethnic cultures and dwellings, which have attracted a wealth of artists over the years.
As part of an art tour, the exhibition aims to provide better insights into the cultural development and lifestyles of people in Southwest China during the area's rapid economic advancement.
The art tour started in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province in 2017, and will go to Tibet after its Guiyang stop. It will finish in Beijing this year.
