Moon Lake Park in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province was recently listed in the first group of provincial wetlands. Seventy-three places in Guizhou were listed.

The park is a wetland featuring diverse fauna and flora and is an important part of the new area's "sponge city" development.

Covering 503 hectares of land, Moon Lake Park is located in downtown Guian New Area, where the Machang River and the Chetian River meet.

Moon Lake Park is a valuable part of the area's ecologically sustainable development, which can be seen from the key role the park has played in building the eco-system. It has become a new landmark of Guian New Area.

A rainwater recycling system is a highlight of the park's ecologically sustainable development. The design concept of the system can be summarized as infiltrating rainwater effectively to achieve groundwater recharging, controlling the runoff, and treating and reusing the rainwater.

At present, the first phase of the park has opened to the public and the second phase is under construction.
