A "supermarket" for charity purpose recently came to life in Rongda village of Anlong county in Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture. Local villagers can get life necessities for free.
Rongda village is one of the poverty-stricken villages in Guizhou province. With water shortages and transportation barriers, residents have been suffering from various difficulties in life.
The local government has been making efforts to alleviate poverty. One of the moves is to encourage institutions to help villagers directly.
Doctors and nurses from Anlong county People's Hospital have donated to the charity supermarket for Rongda villagers, offering them various life necessities for free, ranging from adult's clothes and shoes to children's toys and stationery.
The hospital workers determined to contribute to the village's poverty alleviation campaign years ago.
