During Chinese Spring Festival of 2018, Guizhou province accommodated 19.21 million tourists, earning 11.57 billion yuan ($1.83 billion), a year-on-year growth of 31.09 percent and 35.15 percent, respectively.
Airports in Guizhou handled 2,989 inbound and outbound flights and 372,900 passengers during the holiday, a year-on-year growth of 11.11 percent and 18.04 percent, respectively. Passengers taking the highway and railway reached 10.46 million and 1.09 million, an increase of 24.78 percent and 40.28 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Winter tourism proved to be a major draw during the holiday. Destinations featuring hot spring, skiing, rural and ethnic tourism witnessed record high tourist numbers. Seventeen tourism attractions newly promoted 23 scenic spots to meet the demands of increasing tourists.
Thirty-three hot spring resorts in the province attracted more than 360,000 visitors during the holiday, drawing revenue of about 170 million yuan.
Skiing is becoming a new bright spot of winter tourism in Guizhou. Ski resorts in Liupanshui city and Frozen Town in Guanling county of Aunshun city attracted a large number of visitors.
Data shows that 243 activities themed on local folk characteristics are held in Guizhou during the holiday. Two hundred tour groups of 15,000 tourists came to Guizhou to celebrate the Spring Festival.
A series of promotional activities spread Guizhou's reputation of mountain tourism and splendid ethnic culture. As one of the sub-venues of the 2018 Spring Festival Gala, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefectures also successfully drew the attention of the tourists.
