Guizhou Business Investment Group and a biotechnology company Guizhou Qinbang Group jointly established a trade port to facilitate the export of Guizhou agricultural products, according to Guizhou Commercial Department.
More than 14,000 tons of agricultural products will be exported to ASEAN countries through the port established on Dec 6 with sales amoutn of 129.7 million yuan ($19.5 million).
Located in China-ASEAN International Trade Center of Yunnan's Hekou Yao Autonomous County, the trade port covers an area of 6,800 square meters. The two operating enterprises has purchased 120 mu (80,000 square meters) of land for the construction of trading market and configured facilities and equipment such as large-scale cold storage and testing center for agricultural products.
Lao Cai, a province of Vietnam borders with Hekou Yao Autonomous County, strongly supports the construction of Guizhou's distribution center of agricultural products in Vietnam. Since October of this year, the distribution center has sold 1,600 tons of fruit and vegetables to Vietnam, creating a revenue of 2 million yuan.
The trade port also signed agreements with five prefectures and twelve counties in Guizhou to continuously support agricultural products for ASEAN countries. Data shows that the signed supply base totals 135,900 mu, which is able to support 398,700 tons of agricultural products.
