The rich tourism resources and culture of Guizhou province was promoted in the Italian capital of Rome on Sept 1 by a delegation led by Wang Fuyu, chairman of the CPPCC Guizhou Provincial Committee.
"Despite being thousands of miles apart, Guizhou and Italy are closely linked with each other," said Wang.
The Guizhou General Chamber of Commerce was founded in Italy, and Italy has invested in a number of Guizhou companies, such as Chuangqiji New Energy Co Ltd headquartered in the Gui'an New Area.
Wang added that Guizhou has abundant tourism resources, pleasant weather year-round, a colorful ethnic culture and convenient transportation, all making Guizhou a tourist resort and an investment hub.
During the promotional meeting, the delegation introduced information about the International Mountain Tourism Alliance established in Guizhou's Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture last month. They invited Italian travel agencies to join the organization to strengthen international exchanges through mountain tourism.
Representatives from Italian hotels, travel agencies and airlines also attended the meeting to seek cooperation possibilities. The Chinese Embassy in Italy and the offices of the Chinese National Tourism Administration in Rome pledged to promote Guizhou tourism and culture in Italy in the future.
