The Fifth Guizhou-Taiwan Cooperation Conference on Economy and Trade was held on Aug 21, promoting exchanges in innovation, entrepreneurship and industrial integration between the two sides.
Held in Anshun in the southwestern Chinese province of Guizhou, the conference aims to exploit complementary advantages between Guizhou and Taiwan to achieve mutual development.

At the conference, Taiwan showcased its advanced development in agriculture, creative industries, tourism and leisure.
Held in Guizhou four times since 2013, the conference has helped ink some 60 cooperation memorandums and agreements with a total value of 3.57 billion yuan ($535.3 million).
Many well-known Taiwan-based enterprises such as Foxconn Technology, Ruentex, and Uni-President, have settled and opened new plants in Guizhou as a result of the event.
As of June 2017, Guizhou has 361 registered Taiwan-invested enterprises, attracting investment amounting to $1.37 billion. The conference has become an important platform to deepen economic cooperation between the two sides.
