Due to continuous heavy rain in recent days, the water flow of Guizhou province’s Huangguoshu Waterfall rose to 131 cubic meters per second on June 15, hitting the highest speeds of this year.
However, the torrent of water did not stop crowds of visitors from appreciating the spectacular site. To guarantee visitor safety, the management department of the scenic area closed some spots, such as Doupotang Waterfall and the Water Curtain Cave.
Huangguoshu Waterfall is Guizhou's most spectacular attraction. Located in Zhenning county, Anshun, the scenic area can be found 45 kilometers southwest of the city and 128 kilometers away from Guiyang, the provincial capital.
The waterfall, 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide, is the largest waterfall in China and one of the most famous in the world.
The local meteorological station forecasts more rain for the region in the following days.
