Guizhou's big data development has highlighted 10 innovations, according to a blue paper released at the 2017 China International Big Data Expo in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Innovation is the most important part of Guizhou's experience. It has helped the province transform itself into a leader, according to Ma Peng, senior research manager at IDC China, who released the paper at the conference.

The blue paper--Guizhou on the Cloud, Exploring China's Big Data Development and Takeaways-- shows that Guizhou's big data industry is innovative in terms of its strategic development path, top-down design, data circulation, communication platforms, and digital economy, as well as in other areas.
The IDC report shows that Guizhou's success story can be summarized in three key lessons for other cities and regions: lead development with innovative concepts, steer advancement with evidence-based decision-making and implement with resolute determination.
When asked about how to improve Guizhou' development capabilities with big data in the future, Ma offered four suggestions, including increasing publicity and raising Guizhou's profile in the global market.
Guizhou's big data development is on its way to achieving major breakthroughs, and the city has built a solid foundation to take big data development to a new level, according to the IDC analysis.
Zhu Pingping, CEO of Xiaoi Robot Technology, feels strongly about these innovations, saying that Guiyang has built favorable conditions for corporate development.
Equipped with a dynamic digital knowledge base, the Xiaoi robot can replace human labor in a variety of tasks including answering citizens'questions and improving the efficiency of consultancy and information services.
The latest version of the smart robot even hosted the opening ceremony of the 2017 China International Big Data Expo in Guiyang from May 25 to 28.
Located in the Guiyang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, the Xiaoi Robot Technology Co boasts a two-story spacious office building equipped with modern facilities.
Zhu told China Daily that his company in Guiyang would develop together with the city.
"The AI technology of Xiaoi is probably not the most sophisticated in Guiyang," said Zhu, "But it can help to solve real problems for the city."
